It is with great sadness that we share the news of Debby Jannotta's passing on Sunday, May 18, 2014. Debby (pictured, right) led the development efforts of the Chicago Foundation for Education in conjunction with co-chair Shirley Jaffee, and served as a Board member and active volunteer for more than two decades. In dedicating herself to CFE's cause, Debby cheerfully recruited others to join as volunteers and donors. CFE was proud to celebrate her at our 25th anniversary gala a few years ago, establishing the Debby Jannotta and Shirley Jaffee CFE Teacher of the Year Award in honor of their contributions to the organization.
Debby was more than a CFE Board Member – she was an absolutely essential part of CFE's rich history and a staple of our greater Chicago education community. We will miss her dearly, but we feel that her legacy live on in the work we do for Chicago's teachers and students each day.
