Michelle has been a teacher since 2005, and has taught Pre-K, & 3rd through 8th grades at three different schools. In 2015, Michelle achieved National Board Certification and has spent the last ten years teaching on Chicago’s west side. Michelle graduated from Manchester College in 2005 with degrees in Elementary Education, Secondary Education, and French. She is currently active in her school’s Leadership Team and takes on roles of mentorship, leadership, and professional development within the school. She has helped organize her school’s guided reading program and the materials that accompany it. She is an active grant writer with Donors Choose and uses these grants to make her classroom and the school a stronger space for learning.
