ATTENTION: For 27 years, CFE has held an annual Teachers as Leaders and Learners Workshop to encourage Chicago public school teachers to engage, inspire, and transform their classrooms. Given the current level of uncertainty for district schools and teachers, we have decided to put Workshop on hold for 2016. All other grant and fellowship programs will proceed as usual. For more information about opportunities in the upcoming school year, view our 2016-2017 program schedule here.
Teacher quality is a fundamental factor in providing the rich educational experience that all Chicago students deserve. Chicago Foundation for Education (CFE) honors exemplary Chicago Public School (CPS) teachers with leadership, learning, and grant opportunities that enhance teacher quality and stimulate professional growth. We currently offer five grant-based programs and an annual Teachers as Leaders and Learners Workshop. During the past year alone (2014-15), we funded 600 grants and worked with 945 teachers across 270 schools to impact 48,769 students.
As we celebrate more than 25 years of CFE’s support to CPS teachers, we recognize and thank those who have contributed to our success. We are extremely appreciative of the dedicated volunteers and the individual, foundation, and corporate donors who make all of our accomplishments possible. Support our efforts as a donor or a volunteer, or apply for a grant today!
